Company History

CPT has a long and storied history providing mainframe and technology consulting services to companies around the world. We have worked with 76 of the Fortune 500, and 80% of the world’s banks, delivering great value and outstanding results. We are very proud of our achievements and the people who led us here.

  • 1993

    Founded by Gerry Tuddenham in 1993, with a focus on providing Capacity Planning, Performance Tuning and Testing services to clients with large IBM mainframes. Those three lines of business were the core service offerings and are the basis for CPT’s name.

  • 1996

    The company focused on expanding these mainframe centric services into the mid-range platforms that were becoming prevalent at the time.

  • 1998

    CPT’s geographic expansion also continued through the late 1990s, with the opening of the Sydney and London offices in 1998.

  • 2000

    CPT became a public company in 2000, listing on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX:CGO). It also marked the opening of an office in Canberra.

  • 2001

    Peter Wright, joined CPT as an Executive Director to build a new practice capability in management of IT consulting. This dual-practice model of technical and management of IT services is the foundation for the company as it is today, with a strong core of technical expertise, delivered in conjunction with services for IT management and governance.

  • 2004

    CPT’s expansion into the North American region began in 2004, with the opening of operations in the United States.

  • 2007

    Growth in the overseas operations was recognised by the Victorian Government, with CPT winning the Annual Export Award for Information and Communication Technology.

  • 2010

    Further expansions to operations saw the opening of additional offices in Toronto and Paris in 2010.

  • 2012

    CPT was again recognized by the Victorian Government, winning the Annual Export Award for Information and Communication Technology.

  • 2015

    With the recognition that software is critical to the success of our consultants, CPT began establishing key technology partner relationships including Dynatrace, BMC and Compuware.

  • 2018

    CPT expands partner network with partnerships including Atlassian, UiPath, Micro Focus and Delphix.

    Growth of worldwide payments modernisation and transformation initiatives sees CPT take a leading role in the assurance of this delivery for several major banks around the world.

  • 2019

    Reflecting the changes in our client landscape, CPT formalises our delivery lines: Transformation, Assurance, Optimisation.
