Compuware Partner News – July 2018

Digital demands are driving the need to develop and deploy your mainframe code more quickly and efficiently. At the same time, your requirements for application quality remain high while your workforce is changing. Compuware Topaz for Total Test can help you improve development velocity without compromising application quality by giving developers at all skill-levels a simple, automated way to quickly and easily perform unit testing.

To further our vision of Topaz for Total Test as the de facto standard for automating mainframe unit testing, we’ve just taken three important steps:

  • We acquired XaTester from Xact Consulting A/S so your developers can quickly and easily create unit tests for both batch and CICS-based programs written in COBOL, PL/I and Assembler.
  • We’ve enhanced Topaz for Total Test to automate unit testing for IMS batch and transactional applications. This enhancement complements Topaz for Total Test’s existing capabilities for COBOL unit testing—as well as its integration with leading cross-platform DevOps tools such as Jenkins, SonarSource SonarQube and Compuware ISPW.
  • We’ve partnered with Parasoft so developers using SOAtest and Topaz for Total Test can quickly and easily test the diverse API calls between your mainframe and non-mainframe systems.

These three new capabilities make it easier to perform essential unit testing across all of your mainframe programming languages and environments—from Db2 to IMS, from COBOL to Assembler and from batch to CICS—as well as across the diverse interfaces between your mainframe and non-mainframe systems.

No other vendor offers more complete, automated, and practical solutions for unit testing on the mainframe. So, if you want to get new, high-quality mainframe code into production faster and more frequently—without sacrificing quality and reliability—Compuware Topaz for Total Test is the only way to go.
